Take Your Time [테이크 유어 타임]

2022 Tongyeong Triennale / 2022.March.18.~ May.8.(52days) /

We are living today in the context of a temporal explosion; the exponential acceleration of our present. The omnipresence of communication systems and real time information, the environmental crisis countdown, and the fastest extinction of the living diversity on Earth, are all variables which substantially affect our present and therefore undermine our chances of surviving a future collapse.
By consequence, our era is characterized by the increase of global stress, anxiety, and resentment. Human attention has been geared towards the outside world with the use of permanent virtual interactions and dynamics. Which are all dictated by the need to communicate and to be entertained, to learn and to be informed, to work and to consume, to escape boredom and solitude.
Through this exhibition, our intention is to gear human attention towards the inside, to offer people a time for contemplation, recollection, and reconnection with life’s essential state of awareness.
To think efficiently and shape from our ideas acceptable and salutary forms of the future, we need to take our time to root our presence in the present, to restore our disrupted link with ourselves and our connection with nature.
From handmade craft objects and paintings from the 19th century to neuro design, AI and virtual reality. All impacting our mental timeline, within the entangled trilogy of past, present, and future, which constitutes the permanence and the impermanence of the present. The essence of the now.
